Daniel Iley
Mixed Media, Sculpture, Woodwork, Metal Work
Daniel has been operating a visual arts practice for 20 years since he graduated from art studies in 2006. He is a multidisciplinary artist and an avid maker, creatively inspired by material and moved by nature. He is recognised primarily for his sculptural works which manifest in a myriad of forms, explore diverse mediums, sizes and methods of display. His studio works are often organic, reflect his reverence for nature and emerge from raw and found materials. As a skilled artist he has provided 20 years of committed service in numerous areas of the arts sector and has made consistent contributions to public art and art for the community – in that context he is well known for his large scale log carvings of local fauna and flora, which are dotted throughout the Greater Perth region and beyond.
Daniel has recently redirected his energy from creative services for others, back to his own arts practice and is excited to share the fruits of his labour, play and exploration at this year’s open studios.
