Since retiring in 2018, I have joined different art communities to learn and explore the art of conveying an experience as a work of art. I dabbled in watercolour with Faye Jackson at the then Mundaring Sharing; moved tangentially into Zentangles and Pentangles with Dee Credaro in Busselton, fell in love with coloured pencils via the same lovely lady; was introduced to abstract painting with an on-line course taught by Judy Woods (NZ); tried pastels and, finally, returned to watercolour sketching through the Beaufort Street Community Arts with Sue Hibbertson. I’m currently enjoying acrylic painting although it’s a bit of a challenge!

Exhibiting my work through the Wundowie Iron Festival, local agricultural shows, the AVAS Northam Art Prize and the Arts Toodyay Exhibition, has shown me the value of being prepared to share my work and to take in the huge array of other talented artists.
