My pursuit of art, in various mediums, has been ongoing for almost 60 years, most notably punctuated with Graphic Design in my early 20’s. I started young but my ceramics journey is more recent. It is unlike any other medium I have encountered, It is a limitless array of creative options and problems to be investigated.

Most recently my work has explored surface decoration, allowing my more illustrative side to come to the fore. Every piece reflects my interest in the unusual. It is an odyssey into form, colour, glazes and embellishment that you see in my ceramic work. My recent paintings have dwelt on the concept of currency and wealth, in particular the symbolism of money. It is its own language and has its own icons. I redefine these symbols into something that speaks of its profound power and it’s covert ability to uplift, but also to corrupt and coerce. It is a player on the worlds stage and none of us are removed from its influence.

Recently I have used worldwide currency symbols as letters. This letter substitution is used to convey various quotes on the subject of wealth and money. These quotes are deliberately lost in the pursuit of good imagery. They are intentionally hard to read, reflecting on the hidden agendas that often come with money and wealth, leaving behind a creative an intriguing image capable of further investigation.
