Pauline Gill

Painting

Always a painter, Pauline grew up in Victoria where she trained as a Secondary Art teacher. Later, in Perth, she also trained as a potter and was a long-term member of Guildford Village Potters. Despite her best intentions, with family, work and other commitments painting then tended to be a holiday pursuit.

A year in Canada introduced her to watercolours and she became a committed watercolourist, finding it a fresh and delightful medium. Pauline joined the Watercolour Society of WA and has never looked back, enjoying the companionship and support.. she exhibits regularly with the Society as well as in many group and solo exhibitions. Her work is in many private collections.

Pauline paints regularly plein air both at home in the Perth hills and when travelling. Her studio paintings are sourced from these sketches and photographs. Some areas she particularly loves are our wonderful Jarrah and Wandoo forests, the south coast and the rocks of the wheatbelt.
