Stacy is a botanical painter, and works primarily in oils on canvas. Her creative journey began in theatre set design, studying a BA in Three Dimensional Design, followed by a Diploma of Performing Arts (Theatre Set and Costume Design) at WAAPA in the 1990s. Over time, painting evolved from design practice to personal artistic expression. After exploring landscapes, Stacy returned to her early love of botanicals, inspired by the sensual work of Georgia O’Keefe. She works in a realist style on a large scale, magnifying intricate details of native flora to invite close observation and deeper appreciation. Her work is exhibited in galleries across Perth. In 2024 she received People’s Choice Awards at the Ellenbrook Art Award and Darlington Arts Festival. She has also collaborated with Kings Park and Botanic Gardens, and held a solo exhibition at Mundaring Arts Centre.
