My paintings are rooted in the use of strong bold colour, often idealised, with a fascination in the interaction of light on a particular subject. My depictions of Western Australian landscapes often focus on how paint can be used to express a sense of space and time. I like to use expressive and economical brushstrokes so that specific places, often well known to a local audience, can also allow a subjective interpretation and connection.
