Painting Workshops
We have workshops at my studio/gallery in Mount Helena. They are usually small groups from beginners to experienced artists. You will have individual advice in a relaxed environment developing your techniques, understanding of art, and confidence in your work. It is more like an apprenticeship or masterclass than a formal lesson.
740 Dibble Street, Mount Helena
I only have a few students, usually on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon, but times can vary according to student needs.

Ric Burkitt
Exhibition |
Far Horizons
A solo exhibition of landscape paintings reflecting observations in the urban environment within an hour’s drive from the artist's home. Works originate from the emotive response to the sky and land as they meet at the horizon, of the perfection of nature and the beautiful sprawl of man-made paddocks and farmland. Ric will be giving an artist's talk and running workshops in acrylic landscape painting at various times during the exhibition. Go to https://www.mundaringartscentre.com.au/ or check in on Ric's social media pages for more information closer to the date.

Reclaimed
Reclaimed is a thought-provoking art exhibition that delves into the themes of connection, transformation, and the beauty found in decay, using the ancient and expressive medium of encaustic wax. Every artwork shares a compelling tale of renewal and connection, encouraging viewers to consider discarded materials not as the end of their journey but as the beginning of something new. Through layers of wax, the pieces reveal complex stories that emphasize the deep bond between humanity, nature, and the ever present flow of time.
Ellenbrook Arts HQ
Exhibition open from 12th July to 3rd August. Opening night 11th July 6-8pm

Design and Slow Sewing Techniques Workshop
The design workshops in March were so well received - worthwhile and fun- I have decided to repeat it, an opportunity for those who missed out. I'll be exploring how design elements and slow sewing stitches help make a textile art more pleasing for viewers. We will focus on: 1. Design: The role of colours, leading lines, shapes and details in creating a focal point and movement in a design. 2. Practical: laying out a design and learning hand-sewing stitches. 3. Making a sampler incorporating a design and new stitches All materials provided Booking and questions and for further details: email yfwadley@gmail.com.
