Brian Plank

I learnt to weld at an early age on my family’s farm, but it was the opportunity to study with a blacksmith years later that gave me the inspiration to combine welding with my love of nature and form. Using different metals allows me to explore the play of light, shadow and texture to bring a sculpture to life.

While realistic, life size animal forms are my favourite, I also love to delve into abstract and kinetic. I’m delighted to be a guest at Siju Glass for this year’s Open Studios.
