Jane Newton

Jane is a dedicated passionate potter who creates stunning ceramics from functional pieces to sculptural art. She uses diverse techniques and styles emphasising shape and colour.

Her large unique forms take hours to throw, turn, glaze and fire. Her work inspires her students to also create beautiful and unique pottery. Her studio is a haven of peace and creativity, where clay is transformed into timeless expressions of beauty and functionality.

Jane arrived in Australia in 1973 having started her love affair with clay in London in 1969. Since her arrival in Australia she consolidated her skills at the old Midland TAFE. Where she obtained many distinctions in her work. Her ceramic art forms have gone Australia and worldwide
