During your visit to Mundaring Hills Open Studios a number of artists will be doing demos, workshops, holding artists talks and explaining their process throughout the event.

Introduction to Kiln Formed Glass
Come and make a small kiln formed piece using glass pieces, frit and glass powder. You can make coasters or xmas decorations. This will give you a taste of how glass fusing works. No experience necessary. You will assembling small pieces of coloured glass, frit and powders onto prepared bases. These will be fired over a 24 hour period and posted to you if you can't collect. Get you creative juices flowing. There is a fee to cover cost of glass, firing and post. Coaster $25 each Xmas Decoration $25 each Pay on day. Booking not required. There is a limit of 6 people at a time. It will take less than an hour to assemble the glass. You can come at any time between dates below.

Mark Making with Christine Hingston
I am a full time professional artist. I love to share my skills and techniques that I have developed over many years. We will be painting an abstract landscape or abstract still life using the technique of mark making. If you are finding that your paintings are tight and need to loosen up, this is a perfect workshop for you. We will be working on watercolour paper using watercolour, acrylic, ink, crayon, collage and gold leaf. This workshop is suitable for beginners and experienced painters. Slow Sewing Textiles
Come and join us for a cuppa and some slow sewing! We'll make a small mat using Boro techniques and we'll anchor the shapes using English embroidery and Sashiko stitches. I'll have a kit ready, explain the techniques and then it will be a matter of sitting back, slowing down and enjoying the bush space as you create.5 Kits: $15

Demonstration of landscape painting with acrylics, using palette knife, on canvas. Loose style of painting, with very little detail, and not over-mixing the paint. Demo will run for 30 minutes each day, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, at 10.00am.
