Melissa’s art highlights the natural world, it encourages a pause to see what is often overlooked.

 

Having discovered the ancient art of encaustic (hot beeswax) painting a few years ago, she now uses this as her main medium either painting directly with beeswax or combining and layering it with alcohol ink, watercolour, sketching and adding natural and reclaimed items for sculptures.

 

Melissa’s home studio is a peaceful retreat that welcomes you with the smell of hot beeswax and looks out over natural eucalypt bushland
covered in wildflowers in spring.
