Robbie Kerr, a versatile ceramic artist, transforms stoneware clay into functional and artistic pieces.

 

He predominantly uses the potters-wheel to create the pieces and uses a variety of firing techniques to finish them. His current exploration involves carving into the surface of his pieces, drawing inspiration from patterns found in the natural environment.

 

The use of glazes and coloured slips and accentuates the intricacies, creating a captivating interplay with the clay body. Robbie shares his skill, teaching wheel-throwing at multiple pottery studios in Perth.
